Agate is a type of chalcedony and is a hard stone formed of silicon dioxide commonly occurring in forms of lava or volcanic rock. A hard stone with a glossy and opaque finish, the many kinds of agate gemstones all lend themselves to cabochon cuts and statement jewellery pieces. This gemstone is often banded, displaying many different coloured linear layers. Gemondo's agate collection features white and blue lace varieties with subtle stripes running through each stone.
